Top 10: Songs that have hand-claps.

There’s something about a well-timed hand-clap that really gets me in a song. No matter where I hear it, a club, a car, the bus, DMV, I have to clap along. This says all sorts of unsavory things about the level of OCD I’m battling, but I have no shame and very little dignity. Hand-claps are the tits, and you know this. I’ve specifically avoided THE hand-clap song of our time, “Hey Mickey”, because it’s too obvious.

Feel free to clap along…

David Bowie – Space Oddity

Electric Light Orchestra – Summer and Lightning

The Magnetic Fields – The Death of Ferdinand de Saussure

Queen – Another One Bites the Dust

Hall & Oates – Private Eyes

Steve Miller Band – Take the Money and Run

Ol Dirty Bastard – Got Your Money

The Cars – My Best Friend’s Girl

Radiohead – 15 Step

Gary Numan – I Die, You Die

You’ll never hear it at the DMV, but the Lemonhead’s “Kitchen” has some fine handclappin’.

btw, fine choice on the ODB.. I preferred the first album, myself, but seeing him live was the best.. he came on stage with a beer and a slice of pizza on a paper plate.. hilarity!

In reference to your earlier comment, You’re so wecome. What can I say? You’re the shit! Tried to call you…Does that have anything to do with this check in my hand? I can hold on to it, if you need me to. I’d rather hear your voice! Now, I gots NO problem with a good surprise hand clap song…but what I really need and gotta have is … MORE COWBELL! :)
