With a classic and contemporary dance background spanning more than 17 years, Jolie Roberson blends tribal belly dance with hip-hop, ballet, and everything in between. With every move, she strives to strengthen the audience’s connection with the music while demonstrating the elegant, earthy, and sensual movement of tribal bellydance. Jolie’s innate understanding of theatrics and detailed costuming elevates her performance from pure movement to passionate expression that takes the audience on a journey. Her showmanship and unique perspective on tribal fusion bellydance has not only made her an integral part of the bellydance scene in Chicago, but also the burlesque, theater, and club circuits.
Jolie teaches and performs nationwide as a soloist and with Chicago’s premier tribal bellydance group, Read My Hips, as well as various dance and burlesque groups, such as Girly-Q, Hot and Heavy Burlesque, Knock-Knock Hot Spot, Vaudezilla, and Varietease. She also works with live Chicago bands such as Vicarious.
Jolie is available to perform and teach at a wide variety of events and venues! Clubs, theaters, restaurants, bachelorette parties, and corporate events are all welcome.
