Hitwomen: A new web-series!!!

I promised myself I’d keep out of trouble this summer.  I swore up and down that I’d keep myself busy with fulfilling projects that would exercise my creativity and wear me out.  I’m like a three-month-old labrador puppy, I need lots of walkies or I get destructive.  With this in mind, I’ve been seeking out touring opportunities, live bands to work with, and…FILM OPPORTUNITIES!

My dear friends Lindsey Marks (aka Lady Jack), Chris Sato, and I are currently working on a project called “Hitwomen” which will center around two freelance female assassins whose tongues are as sharp as their knifes and wits as quick as their bullets.  Each webisode will feature a new target, and plenty of sarcasm, as the lead characters make their way through the absurdities of their profession and personal lives. Hitwomen will answer such pressing questions as “Assassin Union? Is it feasible?” and “Exactly how pissed would you be if you found out your hot date was at the head of a sex trafficking ring?”

Hitwomen: Starring Lindsey Marks and Jolie Roberson

Sounds great, huh?  Would you watch that?  If the answer is yes, great!  Just one thing…we need funding to get this made.  We have all the pieces in place, we just need the money. Here’s a little video we made for our page on Kickstarter talking about what we will do with the funding if we get it:

Kickstarter is an amazing tool for independent artists to get the funding they need for big projects. Anyone can donate, it’s totally easy…but here’s the thing…we get it all or we get nothing. Meaning if we get only $5,500 donations toward our $6,000 goal, we get absolutely nothing. That’s a lot of pressure, right? Eeep!

We’d love to make this happen and it would mean a lot to me if you (yes, YOU!) would repost, blog, tweet, tumbl, and whatever else you can think of to get the word out on this thing.

xoxo,
Jolie

Just like the title says. This is the last run of an hour of doing this choreo…which I can assure you is pretty rough when done repeatedly. =)

The Pink Sheep of the Family

1969-2010

Alexander McQueen, one of my all-time favorite designers, died today at the very young age of 40. There’s really not a lot I can say that will encompass the scope of his work, so this will be a picture and video blog. He was a visionary, a delightful wacko, and a genius. Rest in peace.
