Ehn Da Werks

Jesus God Almighty, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve updated this thing. Look, I would love to tell you “OMG I’VE BEEN SO BUSY HAVEN’T HAD TIIIIIME”, but we both know I’d be lying. I’m not so much on the internet as I am attached to it, but writer’s block has been a bitch. I’ll take this little opportunity to let you guys in on what I’ve been up to…

Curiouser & Curiouser Productions

The hot line-up from our last show!

C&C (not factory) is a new production company run by myself and Siren Jinx. We’ve been cutting our teeth in small productions for the past couple of months, figuring out what does and doesn’t work, imbibing too much and yet, somehow, not enough, etc. We are gearing up for our next round of high-intensity promotion and finding the next big venue to host our shows. This has been a fun, aggravating, enlightening, difficult, and, ultimately, rewarding process that has really opened us up as performers and business women.  Also, it has allowed us the forum we need to create the worst videos ever…for the children.

Taste of Randolph Street Fest

Maxwell-Demon and I bringing the weird to Resonate 2010.

The last, ill-fated gig the Black Box Trio had together was 13 years ago in a Swiss prison camp full of malnourished hackers and anarchists.  We got out of that camp with nothing but our underpants and scabies intact and vowed to never perform again…then we changed our minds.  Comprised of drinking buddies/general malcontents/derelicts Dominic Johnson torturing the viola like he’s getting back at his father, Max Glascott getting weird with the electronics, and me, Jolie Roberson, twitching to the beats, Black Box Trio is sure to at least be entertaining if you’re on drugs (harder than aspirin, softer than coke).  No, seriously, we’re gonna make it rain at the Taste of Randolph Street Festival.  Check us out at 3pm, June 20th.  Don’t miss it!

Oh, and while you’re festing it up…I’m also performing with Vicarious, the Tool Tribute Band,  Saturday, June 19 at 6pm.  Ever wonder what Tool would sound like if you replaced Maynard with a really hot chick with awesome hair and a crazy-good voice, and the guitar leads with a violin?  Me neither, I’m just not that creative…but I’m glad this band exists to broaden my horizons.

New You

Awww, back when the "Warm Gold" costume was just a baby!

When you perform as much as I do, you start to get pretty damn bored with your costuming.  I tend to be a pretty lazy costumer, but I’ve recently had a surge of creative energy in that area…so be on the lookout for a brand-spankin’ new and non-black summer costume on me within the next month.  Also, the lovely creatrix Dusty Paik has been workin’ my top half into something magical.  Here’s a fun interview. If you are so inclined to buy some awesome custom costuming, you should look her up.  In the same vein, the absolutely lovely Medina Maitreya has the summer to work on costuming as well.  Take a look at some of her creations. …moist as a snack-cake.

That’s all folks.  Be on the lookout for more posts soon!
